i pity the fool

i pity the fool who hasn't caught the A-Team, for 2 reasons.

1) it is a bad-ass movie. i felt they stuck to the series and was true to the characters and plot. remember this voiceover before every episode "If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... The A-Team." well the movie brought me back there. i do wish Mr T had more bling on him though. just the mohawk alone was not enough. but that aside, the kids, hubs, DG and I really had a good time.

some may argue that it's a guy's movie. very tailored for the testosterone. how a man comes up with a plan, then tells it to his posse who then make their own props and go on their way to carry out the plan and execute it with lots of guns and explosions and sh*t. but noooo, the movie is also for the women. which brings me to point 2 .....

2) hawtie bradley cooper. if nothing else, catch the movie to drool over this man. try to contain yourself when he comes on shirtless, his hot bod glistening in the sun. then again when he's in his suit looking all yummy.

now go grab the kids, or the partner ... oh hell grab somebody fool! book your tickets and go watch the movie. you won't regret it.

i love it when a plan comes together :)

when gods collide

hubs and i took the kids to watch percy jackson and the lightning thief today. i've not read any harry potter book nor have i watched the movies because the story line of kids learning wizardry with all that magic and mayhem then gelling it with the modern world does absolutely nothing for me. but the whole greek mythology thing* with this harry potter-esque story grabbed me and i was eager to buy the tix.

* i like all things greek, mostly drawn by their mythology. i'm also fascinated by their history. i like their salads, wonder woman and their glorious isle - ooh to soak in the spirit of greece. i tolerated the hercules tv series and put up w xena the warrior princess ... actually i lie, i didn't tolerate, i actually anticipated the episodes, week after week. sigh. BUT NOW ... i am super looking forward to clash of the titans! how cool is that going to be!*

PJATLT was my interim greek fix. to me, it was like camp rock with a teeny tiny touch of 300 with the zac efron (less metro) lookalike main actor. also ... might i add, we've always known pierce brosnan to be quite the stallion. this movie just took that one step further and made him into a centaur! haha. he looked absolutely majestic. and who else better to play medusa than ice cold uma thurman. and of cause they needed to get that greek chick from CSI:NY to do a cameo as athena.

i like the way the mythical characters were weaved into the story line. accept for the idea of the demi-god camp which i thot was a little roll-eyes-ish, i liked it. more importantly, the kids enjoyed it. go watch, quick!

bonding experience

daniel craig is my favourite bond. this man can do no wrong. he is impeccable in a suit and looks just as yummy without one. that alone is a visual buffet.

hubs and i were watching "the world is not enough" last night starring pierce brosnan and boy did it look B-grade. we were rolling our eyes at the stunt sequences and the dialogue etc. but the new bond franchise ... wow!

this is what bond is about. this is exactly what i wanted bond to be and more. sexy, confident, indestructible, suave, empowered, street smart and totally unpredictable. heyyyy ....wait a minute .... i think bond is a scorp!
